The Health Services Department is soley funded by private donations and its mission is to support the people we serve in achieving the highest level of health possible. We achieve this mission by creating systems that track all aspects of our resident's health care spanning from podiatry to neurology and everything in-between.

One aspect of our mission is to facilitate communication between our residents and their health care providers. We often receive comments from the medical/dental/psychiatric community on how our charts and knowledge of the resident's history is impressive. We also receive a great deal of praise from the medical community because we always arrive in their offices with comprehensive knowledge of each individual's needs, their history, and the ability to help them communicate their needs.

Our Health Services Department is unique in our field as its sole purpose is to focus on the resident's health. Every member of the Health Services staff has been working at the Cedars for many years and knows the residents well. Health Services also utilizes a custom built database. This database tracks all health information, behaviors, demographics, medications, seizures, contacts and much more. The database is on a private network enabling all thirteen residential sites and three day programs access to the information. We continue to strive to improve our services in the wake of the challenges presented by the current health care environment.
