The next Cedars Family Association Meeting will be on Saturday May 19, 2012 at 3 p.m. at 2 Kensington Road in San Anselmo.

THE CEDARS FAMILY ASSOCIATION (CFA) has grown more involved and effective over the years in supporting The Cedars of Marin, its staff, the family members of clients, and our clients directly.  It is quickly becoming an invaluable action-oriented resource as Cedars continues to expand and refine its services. The goals of the CFA include:

• Serving as a regular forum for family members to discuss and provide input to the Cedars on a myriad of topical issues
• Helping Cedars communicate its mission and services, raise funds, and increase the awareness of issues affecting the developmentally disabled (DD)
• Engaging Cedars families regarding other matters that affect their DD family member
• The Family Association generally meets three times per year: in May in conjunction with the Marin Special Olympics; in September; and in December for an annual holiday celebration. The meetings include up-dates from the Executive Director and other Cedars staff and volunteers on current projects, new initiatives, and future plans as well as occasional updates on broader issues affecting Cedars families. The meetings also serve as an open forum for issues and questions raised by those in attendance.
