RAESHAN IS A QUIET, friendly young man. His easy-going personality affords him many opportunities. Through The Cedars’ Community Challenges program, Rae volunteers at Marin General Hospital, Marin Headlands, Meals of Marin, and St. Vincent’s Dining Room.

He enjoys the company of friends and attends monthly dances. Raeshan loves Special Olympics, basketball, picnics, walks, movies, eating out, and wrestling.

Tom is a friendly young man who is involved in many activities and prides himself on his independence. For the past seven years, Tom has worked two shifts each week at a retail business in San Francisco.

He also works at Home Depot and receives coaching by Integrated Community Services. Each Sunday, Tom Practices gymnastics with Special Olympics and, in his spare time, has become quite adept at using the computer.

David is known for his great sense of humor and sensitivity to others. His interests include professional wrestling, music, and movies. David especially loves getting dressed up for his girlfriend and is extremely ‘cool’ on the dance floor.

Four days each week, David works on the garden crew at The Cedars’ Textile Arts Center and one day each week he volunteers at St. Vincent’s Dining Hall. Watching his weight, David’s daily routine includes walking and playing basketball. Currently, he plays on the Special Olympics basketball team every Saturday at the College of Marin.

“Cedars is a hidden gem in this world. Since my mother has placed Jimmy into this wonderful community, she feels a sense of security for her son for the rest of his life. The Cedars family can be counted as the best of the best when it comes to their compassion for their mission. You are like a fine wine getting even better with age!”
— John Powers

“I like living here and especially enjoy mopping, taking out the trash, and doing my own laundry.”
